Fresh Steam Install

The game will always be in your library, whether its installed or not. So any time you want a clean install on a game you have modded, or for any other reason, just uninstall the game as usual. Then go to the steam folder as WhiteDwarf described, and delete any leftover files.

'Steam/SteamApps/Common/ = delete the KSP Folder here' Once you have deleted any leftovers, then its completely uninstalled. (When you uninstall a game, it doesnt remove custom files or mods, that must be removed manually) In your steam library you can find all your games that you own.

Find KSP and install a clean copy, just right click and choose 'install game'. Who has a monthly bandwidth limit?;) yah nuke n pave is best way, however id suggest doing the steam uninstall first, never know with how finicky steam is weither its gonna freak out if you delete a game it still thinks you have.lol delete via steam(delete local - which is a joke btw) then go in and manually empty the KSP folder. Then steam reinstall and hope you dont get error 41.hehehe;) finally for those who do have a bandwidth limit, setup steam to auto-offline mode for when internet is down, then with a clean KSP take the entire main DIR and put it into a zipfile n store that somewhere other then your KSP DIR. @gxs: wheres this magical 20 parts mod? Im lucky if i get 5 from the mods i seen.lol someone should really suggest file compression for future KSP update, would really up the mods loads.

I have this problem as well. I have removed any and all mods from my apps folder (Using the prescribed steps), I have verified my game cache, and I have reinstalled my game. I cannot play multiplayer co-op with my friend who has also performed these steps. We have identical versions and identical DLC (We both have all of it). Up until recently, we have been able to play with no problem. Why is there no compatibility pack for this game? Why is there no easy way to remove mods?

I understand that there is a separation between the Steam workshop people and the Creative Assembly people. I also understand that this may be a fundamental issue with a recent patch. I just wish there was some genuine info on the subject that would put me at ease. Even a 'We know about this issue and we're working on it' wouldn't go amiss here. Honestly I wish there was just a disable/remove/uninstall button for the Steam Workshop, since it seems like this is what's causing me problems.

I am having the same type of problem with the modded type being up in the corner under the version. I have followed the steps given by the admin but when i start up the game the modded files come back. I've re-installed the game, did patch repair, ect. I am part of a stem beta but im not sure what that would do. The file names are 'gfx.log' and 'modified' in the gfx.log it says Downgrading, Over budget by 113 MB Downgraded Shadows to 3 Downgraded Shadows to 2 Downgraded Sky Options to 2 Downgraded Water Details to 2 Disabled Distortion Downgraded Effects Quality to 2 Downgraded Texture Quality to 2 and in the modified folder it says: localenpatch.pack unknown file patch.pack unknown file patch10.pack unknown file patch11.pack unknown file patch12.pack unknown file and continues on like that any help would be very appreciated also sorry its so long wanted to put as much information in as i could. © Copyright Games Workshop Limited 2015.
